What is IMU CET
Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test (IMU CET) is a National Level Entrance Test conducted by Indian Maritime University for the admissions of Undergraduate Maritime Programmes.
It is the first step in a long journey of becoming a seafarer.
As per the Directorate General of Shipping, Ministry of Shipping, Government of India, It is a mandated requirement to qualify IMU CET to study Maritime Courses in India.
All the Maritime Training Institutes regulated by DG Shipping will admit the students based on their IMU-CET ranking.
The Single National level IMU CET held every year in the month of June.

Syllabus of IMU CET
IMU CET is a Computer based test consisting 5 sections Physics, Chemistry, Maths, English and Aptitude.
- Duration: 3 Hours
- Medium of Examination: English
- Type of Questions: Multiple Choice Questions (Objective Type)
- Total No of Questions: 200 nos
- Section wise distribution of Questions:
1.Mathematics- 50 questions
2.Physics- 50 questions
3.Chemistry- 25 questions
4.English – 25 questions
5.General Aptitude – 25 questions
6.General Knowledge – 25 questions
- IMU CET Marking Scheme:1 mark for every correct answers. There is a negative marking of 0.25 for every wrong answers
- Syllabus will be based on 11th and 12th Std CBSE and State Board portions.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Pass in 12th Standard examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as separate subjects with a PCM average of not less than 60%. The candidate must have secured minimum 50% marks in English language in 10th or 12th standard exam.
- The candidate must have passed the 10th and 12th standard from a recognized board.
